Stuart was brought up in Larkhall and his parents still live in the town. He has worked in the oil industry for his whole career and holds a number of board positions. He has been Chairman of the Machan Trust Board of Trustees for 4 years. He is always incredibly impressed by the dedication and commitment of the staff, volunteers and sessional workers and the huge impact we are having on the life chances of every child and young person we work with.
Alastair has been Chair of the Machan Trust's Representatives' Committee for over 11 years and a local Church Minister who has had the wonderful privilege of seeing the great challenges addressed and the tremendous changes achieved by the work of the Trust among young people.
Carol is the former Treasurer of The Machan Trust and remains on the board of trustees.
Susan was brought up in Bellshill where her father, James Rennie, was the local chemist. She went to Mossend Primary and later attended school and University in Glasgow. Susan graduated in 1980 and went into a career in finance working as a company analyst before moving into investment management and becoming a director of Murray Johnstone in 1996. Today, Susan works for Aberdeen Asset Management as a Senior Investment Strategist. She is married with a grown up daughter and splits her time between her home in Glasgow and her work in Edinburgh. Susan is also a trustee of two other charities; The Colquhoun Bequest in Glasgow and Didasko Education Company in Edinburgh.
