Machan Trust provides activities for young people in S1-S6 in Larkhall and the surrounding areas including youth groups, sports groups and issue-based activities.

S1-S6 Activities

All our groups are open to all and completely free of charge with snacks and drinks provided. 

Vibe

Vibe is our very popular youth group at St Machan's Church. 

Come along and hang out with some friends, enjoy our Pot Noodle bar, join in some games, listen to some music, and try out our TikTok making station!

Free of charge. Drinks and snacks provided.

Every Thursday 6pm until 8pm.

Badminton

Our senior badminton group is on every Thursday 8pm until 9pm at the Leisure Center. All equipment is provided. Come along and learn how to play badminton. Learn the proper techniques and build confidence through fun games, single and double tournaments. 

Youth Cafe Drop-In

Our new youth cafe in Stonehouse Lifestyles Centre is for primary 5 to 6th year of high school. It's on every Monday 4pm until 5pm. Come along for snacks, juice, fun activities and a chat with friends.

Groups in Larkhall Academy:

all after-school groups in Larkhall Academy offer free bus travel passes.

Lunch Club

Lunch Club is a busy club which runs every day. You can bring your lunch or pop along after, join in some games, chat to friends and use the computers. 

Homework Club

The homework club is on every Tuesday afterschool until 5pm in room E002. Its a quiet space for students to get ahead on homework or study for test. There are computers available to use and homework resources. You can also pick up a free stationary pack.

Hype

Hype is our very popular afterschool group. We have a cereal cafe along with other snacks and drinks. Games like table tennis, Kahoot, Uno, indoor snowball fights, etc. We also do crafts, such as keyring making, bracelet making, felt pencil toppers, etc. In room E002. 

Bagel Bar

The Machan Trust also help out at the Academy's Breakfast Bagel Bar. We also provide healthy cereal bars. Come along to the home economics department before school starts to get a head start on your day!

Employability Support

We also provide Employability Support for Larkhall Academy and outwith the academy for those who have left school. We can provide support to write a CV, help with application forms and interview skills. We also provide volunteer placements to help gain recent work skills.

Volunteering

We also provide volunteer opportunities for young people 16+

Collective Voices

Collective Voices is our youth activity that allows us to consult with young people in the area about their community.  

We take this activity out to all of our youth work groups.
